Total community Transformers with support from the Pollination Project constructed Hand washing water points at Viyele Primary school. Before the facilities, hand washing buckets were placed on the ground and girls used to stoop to the ground to access water. This was very challenging to girls and most of them could not wash their hands putting them at risk of infections.
The new hand washing facilities are raised, making it easier for girls to access water without stooping. We also constructed the points close to the kitchen where learners take porridge. This has enhanced the spirit of washing hands among learners as they come to take their breakfast at school which has mitigated the challenge of eating with dirty hands which cause infections
